About me
I was born in Riga, Latvia and emigrated to the United States at age eight, settling in Queens, New York. My artistic talent developed during the years spent at the F.H. LaGuardia High School, where I studied art. Taking an interest in the built environment, I focused on architecture during my first two years at the City College of New York. Unfortunately, I was not able to keep up in calculus, physics, and staying up long nights. At the same time, I had an easy time in history and writing, and it was an effortless transition to being a journalism student.
In my spare time, I find painting to be a good way to relieve stress and improve communicating. I have embraced the traditions of my people, partly due to my love of history and a deep sense of responsibility in preserving culture. I consider my grandparents to be almost as important as my parents in providing advice, life lessons, and practicing certain traditions. I consider having multiple talents as a positive contribution towards a unique outlook on the world. Not having personal connections to the career I desire, my only option is to work hard and prove my abilities to the employers.
At this time, I am searching for a job that will help advance my career goals in writing and research.
