These photos were created in the Summer of 2006, as a Media Fellow at the Jerusalem office of The Israel Project
Last run around Yerushalayim
The night is young. My supervisors are also uncomfortable by the presence of facial hair. There can only be one Che!
This Old City art vendor is on the front lines of Israel.
Hopefully he will return soon.
Keeping up with the revolutionary theme is the trademark Arafat keffiyeh, with the Palestine map on the chest. Allahu Akbar!
The real bombshells!
Another group of new Jews is treated to traditional Jewish songs and circle dancing in the hostel courtyard.
This calls for another night of drinking!
Since I shaved my revolutionary look, I brought it back with a "white Russian" mustache.
Attempts at a human pyramid.
An Israel icouple behind our table was madly in love, smothering each other with wild kisses, oblivious to the crowd around them. I came to Israel to learn, and I learned plentyo f news moves that nite. In this picture they are locked in a stare, looking for more inpiration from each other.
Another silly photo at the Open Bar on Queen Shlomzion Street.
If King Solomon and Queen Shlomzion were alive today, what would they say to each other? "How about a Johnny Walker?"
Goodbye Dinner
As my departure from Israel approached, my colleagues were invited to the home of Calev ben David, where we broke the Tisha b'Av fast and checked out his book collection.
Our European expert Giordana Grego and her fiancée Rafi Levi. They are a fashionable Jewish power couple. I can't wait to see their future children!
Actually, the only guest who was really nitpicking the book collection was me. Looks like my colleagues dig the facial hair. Is there a Jewish Che around? Every nation has its bearded revolutionary. We have Herzl, Weizman, etc...
Nate Grubman makes a power pose with our French expert Suzanne Levy and office manager Rachel Fishman.
In the front are Calev's daughter and wife. In the back, he is giving an interview. His work follows him home.
Our group picture. Calev is in the back.
