The close-up of the mouth of the Hudson River is on the right.
The New York Public Research Organization has locations on an number of public and private college campuses throughout the state. To show the unity of its members across various colleges, I had the names of the SUNY, CUNY, and private colleges connected to each other in crossword fashion. To further show unity, I painted a map of the Hudson River from its source to its mouth, representing it as the main transportation route of the state. Unfortunately, this mural has been greatly altered since its opening.
