Built atop the ruins of a remnant of the old Finley Student Center, the South Campus Center would restore some of the Romanesque details of old South Campus buildings that were demolished in the early 1980s. A large glass window would face directly onto W.133rd Street, towards the Hudson River. Behind it, a large hall would allow dramatic views of the sun setting over the river. On the south and east sides of the building, porches and balconies would allow for good views of the campus athletic field, which is located behind the proposed building. The South Campus Center would be mixed-use, shared by classrooms and student organizations.
